Movie Collector

Movie Collector can be used to catalog movies and to maintain a well organized database. The application does almost everything for you, which gives you the possibility of building up your database from the ground up as fast as possible. It can retrieve a wide range of information about individual movies, it can provide you with various statistics and it gives you the possibility of making your database available anywhere in the world, in the cloud or on a mobile device.

When launched for the first time, Movie Collector will load a sample database, to help you figure out how everything works faster and easier. Movies are displayed in a list, on the left side of the user interface, where you can also display them as DVDs or Blu-rays on a shelf. A huge amount of information, retrieved from IMDB, about a selected movie can be found in the larger area on the right.

You can add new database entries manually, by scanning for movies in your local folders and on inserted discs or by targeting specific files or folders. Movie files can be inserted separately, but you can also link the files and add them as episodes.

The fastest and easiest way to create a new database entry is to simply type a title on a separate window, select a search result and click a button. This will add all the relevant details about the movie, as well as its cover, without the need for any further user input. Furthermore, the application lets you switch from a movie's basic information to statistics about your database. The statistics include total figures for movie genres, years, ratings and much more, which can be viewed as bar graphs or pie charts.
